Blake Pickett, owner and chef of River’s Edge A Tuscan Grille, brings to Kerrville his visions of fine Northern Italian food, outstanding wine selections and beautiful scenery in an elegant yet casual atmosphere. River’s Edge is a place where you can dine in anything from suits and dresses to jeans and experience the finest food, wine and personal service in the Hill Country.

A
native Texan, Blake sold his restaurant in Denver, Colorado and returned to his
home state on December 23, 2005 as a Christmas present to his mother, Emily
Petty, owner of
Limestone Properties, LLC. At that time, he had several different
concepts of what he wanted to bring to the Kerrville area. After speaking with
many of the local residents of
Hunt and Kerrville, he
decided that the area needed an Italian restaurant. His original concept for
the restaurant was family-style Italian with a bistro atmosphere. However, after
finding the building that would be the home of River’s Edge with romantic views
of the Guadalupe, he decided to alter the menu to fit the setting and provide a
venue where people can truly “dine” instead of a place to just “eat out”. He
spent the next six months remodeling the building and working in his mother’s
home kitchen in Hunt creating the tantalizing array of dishes one can enjoy
while taking in the beauty of the Hill Country from any seat in the restaurant.

To compliment the menu, Blake has built the only all Italian wine list in the
Hill Country area. He and his wine steward, Chris Jordan, are constantly in
search of the best Italian wines to add to an already stellar wine list. The
list currently consists of approximately 60 selections. He has also reserved a
few special wines for his private collection that are not advertised which he
will be more than happy to share with anyone who is interested. As part of his
promotion of Italian wines, he holds quarterly wine dinners. Each dinner
consists of 5 to 6 courses and he builds the menu around each personally
selected wine to create phenomenal parings.

Blake extends his personal touch from his menu and wine choices to his clientele. He makes every effort to visit each table and speak with every diner. You will likely see him on the floor at least once during your meal to make sure that everyone is having the best dining experience he can provide.
In addition to the combination of delicious food and wine and his personal service, Blake has made every effort to create an atmosphere that will also please your sense of sight. Stunning views of the river can be seen while relaxing in the dining room, on the patio or from the roof-top bar. The restaurant provides the most spectacular sunset views in the city!

To further enhance your dining experience, live music is performed every Saturday night beginning at 6:30 pm by Harpist Stephanie Nash. Stephanie brings with her over 24 years of performance experience from Houston, New Orleans and Chicago. Her years of free-lance and symphony work has helped her develop an extensive variety of music from serious classical to pop to please listeners of all types.
